RYDA Program

RYDA (Rotary Youth Driver Awareness)

A one day rotary program that every child in Tasmania is able to attend.  Rotarians volunteer their time as a community service to keep our youth safe.  In 2010 the program ran for 13 days & over 2000 students attended.  Moonah Rotary provided many Rotarians to help out in April at the Showgrounds. Photos bellow of some of the Students & Rotrains at work !!

This program targets “Awareness & Attitudinal Change” & seeks to encourage young people 16-17 years of age who are on the verge of getting their licence & or have recently obtained their “L” plates.  We hope that this program will help these young drivers to take a more responsible attitude to motoring & to help them realise that even as passengers they have choices.

We as Rotarians recongnise this program as being a valuable use  of our time & resources.

We are helping to keep our YOUTH of Tasmania SAFE (drivers & passengers) & we are creating a safer driving environment for all drivers (young & old) on  AUSTRALIA’S roads.
