Glenorchy City Volunteer Awards 2019

Glenyse with her Award

Congratulations to our Glenyse Russell for her well deserved Volunteer Award. Presented by the Mayor of Glenorchy Kristie Johnston, Glenyse was awarded a Special Contribution Award for over 40 years of Community Service in the Glenorchy Area. A member of Rotary for thirteen years she has also been awarded a Paul Harris and Sapphire Pin for her service. Glenyse is the Co-ordinator of the annual Grandparent’s Raising Grandparents Xmas in July Lunch and has been involved with the Safe Community Young People Awards for twelve years. She organises all the club’s Fundraising BBQS and runs Monthly Sports Cards to raise funds for Xmas Gifts for Mara and Flint House. Before joining Rotary, Glenyse was involved in many other voluntary activities and still knits baby clothes and crafts for local disadvantaged families and overseas organisations. Glenyse’s ongoing enthusiasm and generosity in helping others is an inspiration, and she is a valuable member of our club and community. Well done Glenyse.
